Designed in collaboration with Steven K. Neufeld, M.D., at the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center in Washington, the anatomically shaped MetaFix™ MTP plate is used for arthrodesis of the metatarsophalangeal I joint. The plate features 6 fixed-angle screw holes that can be used with either 3.0 or 3.5 mm fixed-angle screws, depending on bone structure. The plate has a compression hole to enable axial compression of the osteotomy gap using an eccentrically placed cannulated compression screw. The combination of anatomically shaped plate and fixed-angle screws provides exceptional primary stability that can allow patients to put weight on the foot quickly.
Two plate lengths (39 mm and 52 mm) apiece for the left and right foot
Screwed in using fixed-angle MetaFix™ LS screws, Ø 3.0 mm or Ø 3.5 mm, as well as MetaFix™ Cannulated PCS Screws Ø 3.0 mm or Merete® CS Screws Ø 3.0 mm for compression
