Modular hip-stem system for cemented or non-cemented restorations, available in Standard and Lateral variants.
The IntraBlock™ TwinStem™ line of hip stems includes implants intended for both cemented and non-cemented implantation. The non-cemented stems are made of a titanium alloy. They are coated with TPS (Titanium Plasma Spray) and BONIT® in the proximal area of the hip stem. The cemented versions of the hip stems are made of Vivium®, and are available in seven sizes. Cemented and non-cemented IntraBlock™ TwinStem™ prosthetic stems are available in eight sizes apiece for Standard and Lateral variants. Both types have a CCD angle of 135°.
Allows 6 mm lateralisation by shifting the femoral neck axis of the implant in conjunction with an offset extension for the lateral variant
The 12/14 stem taper corresponds to Merete taper specifications and can be combined with the BioBall™ system or Merete heads, i.e. metal heads with Merete GmbH XPE inlays and BIOLOX® delta* ceramic heads with BIOLOX® delta* inlays or XPE inlays

Indications
Advanced wear of the hip joint secondary to the degenerative and rheumatic diseases or post-traumatic disorders, including advanced avascular head necrosis, which cannot be treated conservatively or by using joint salvage surgical techniques
The sequelae of previous surgeries (failure of total hip arthroplasty, failure of hemiarthroplasty or osteosynthesis of fractures localised in the proximity of the femoral head and osteotomies in the proximity of hip joint)
Hemiarthroplasty in osteosynthetic untreated femoral neck fractures
